Ferreira coal mine is located near Ermelo in South Africa. The mine is owned by Continental Coal, a coal mining company operating in South Africa and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
The project, which was commissioned in 2008 and bought by Continteal in late 2010, is was forecast to continue through to mid 2012.[1] An expansion of the mine in 2012 extended it's life through 2014, when the mines resources were depleted production ceased entirely. The mine produced approximately .443 million tones per annum [2]
