Background

Flatbed Coal Mine (also known as the Gordon Creek project) is a proposed underground mine project in the Peace River Coalfield, British Columbia, Canada.[3]

As of November 2023, there have been no recent updates on this project and it appears to be shelved. Colonial Coal's Flatbed project is located between approximately 8 and 10 kilometers from the company's existing Quintette and PRC loadouts. The property is adjacent to Anglo American’s Trend Mine and Teck Coal’s Window proposed mine, and has the potential for a large tonnage deposit, with a 100+ Mt coking coal resource target.[3]

While there have been no recent updates on this project, reports from the fiscal year ending July 31, 2022, reveal that coal license renewal fees were paid, suggesting that the mine project is still active.[4]
