Background

Fuqing LNG Terminal is a proposed 3 mtpa LNG import terminal in Donghan Town, Fuqing. It is sponsored by PetroChina of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

As of June 2022, the project was still awaiting a construction permit.

Fuqing LNG terminal project was among the list of Fujian major construction projects 2023. But no details can be found. A bidding notice for the supporting berth of the LNG terminal was released in October 2022, indicating the project is still active.

In April 2023, the environment impact assessment of the project was made for public.
