Background
GKH Hannover is a 2 x 150 MW subcritical coal plant. Unit-1 went commercial in July 1989 followed by Unit-2 in September 1989.[2]
In September 2021, the city of Hannover announced that the power station would be retired as soon as possible, with the target being 2026. Retirement as early as 2024 was possible.[3]
