Gansu Yongchang power station (甘肃永昌发电厂) is an operating power station of at least 660-megawatts (MW) in Hexipu, Yongchang, Jinchang, Gansu, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as Jinchang power station, 甘肃电投金昌发电公司永昌发电厂.

Background

The plant was founded in 1960. The first five units of the plant totaling 99 MW were commissioned in 1965-1970 and retired in 2007. Units 6 and 7, 100 MW of each unit, were retired in 2010. An additional two units of 330 MW each were completed in 2009. It is a CHP power plant supplying heat to the Yongchang County besides electricity generation. [1]
