Background

The power station is owned by PGE Energia Ciepła S.A. and is located in Gdańsk, Pomorskie Province, Poland.[2]

Coal retirement

According to PGE's 2030 Strategy, the company would be increasing low- and zero-emission fuels' share of energy generation in the coming years. This would presumably include retiring the coal-firing units at Gdansk-2 power station by 2030.[3]

In October 2024, the retirement of coal in Gdansk by 2030 was reiterated.[4]
