Financing

Background

In 2010, San Miguel Corporation said it planned to build a 300 MW coal-fired plant in General Santos City with coal coming from the company's Daguma Coal mine in nearby Lake Sebu, by 2012.[2]

In 2011 it was reported that SMC was having difficulty locating a suitable site for the proposed plant, and was prioritizing construction of its Davao Power Plant instead.[3]
