Background
The mine is operated by Gibson County Coal, a subsidiary of Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. (ARLP). The mine began production in November 2000. The preparation plant has a throughput capacity of 700 tons of raw coal an hour.[1]
ARLP refers to the reserves mined at this location as "Gibson North." ARLP also controls Gibson South Mine, with estimates of 60.4 million tons reserve estimates. [1]
