Background on Mine

The Godavarikhani 10 Incline Coal Mine is a combined operation of two existing old underground mines started in the year 1975 and 1985 respectively with a capacity of 0.45 MTPA for GDK 10 and 0.57 MTPA for GDK10A Incline. The mines operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, are located in village Nagepalli, Mandal Ramagiri, District Peddapally, State Telangana, India.

Environmental Clearances were obtained vide letter no.J-11015/14/86-IA, dated 9th July, 1986 for a production capacity of 0.45 MTPA for GDK10 Incline and vide letter no.11015/25/83.EN.5 & J-11015/7/84-EN.5,dated 11th July, 1985 for a production capacity of 0.57 Mtpa for GDK10A Incline respectively.

Now, it is proposed for Revalidation of Environmental Clearance for the GDK-10 Incline(Cluster of GDK 10 Incline and GDK 10A Incline) with a production capacity of 0.30 MTPA, in the project area of 483.27 ha under the provisions of S.O. 1533, dated 14.09.2006 & S.O.1530(E),dated 6th April,2018 of MoEF&CC issued under Environment (Protection) Act,1986. In this context so as to Revalidate Environmental clearance, the pre-feasibility report is prepared as per the guidelines issued by MoEF & CC vide no J- 11013/41/2006-IA.II (I), dated 30.12.2010.
