Background on Mine

The Goleti 1&1A Incline Underground Coal Mine Expansion Project of 0.6 MTPA capacity over an area of 658.26 Ha is operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, in village Goleti, Mandal Rebbena, District Kumram Bheem, State Telangana, India. The project its environment clearance on 27 October 2008.

The mining operations were temporally stopped at this underground coal mine from 01.04.2016 due to geological disturbances and bad roof conditions except pumping of water through bore-wells by sub- mergible pumps for supplying of water to Goleti township & Goleti village. There is no coal production from this mine from 01.04.2016. The mine entries including air shafts were closed. It is proposed to excavate balance coal reserves by opencast method of mining after obtaining environmental & other related permissions.
