Background
The Gordon Creek project is located within Colonial Coal’s 100%-owned Flatbed Coal property, in the central portion of the PRC, adjacent to Anglo American’s Trend mine as well as Teck Coal’s Quintette project.[1] The project currently has a defined Inferred Resource of 298mt across eight seams in the Gates Formation.[1]
Gordon Creek is expected to produce a total of 39.3mt of hard coking coal and semi-hard coking coal over a 22-year period, followed by 18.1mt of PCI product from year 20 through year 30. Longwall mining has been selected as the preferred mining method, with the seams being accessed via a shaft/slope combination to the uppermost seam, and then sequenced downward through slope extensions and inter-seam raise shafts.[1]
