Background
In 2019, owner Marker group announced the "Oven 8" plant to modernize a 50 year old kiln line at the Harburg plant. The new kiln needs significantly less fuel energy than the old one and the fuel-related CO2 emissions will be reduced by about a quarter. In 2023, the new kiln line was commissioned.
