Background
The pipeline is operated and owned by Gujarat Gas Company Limited.[1] It was built at a cost of Rs 120 crore.[5]
Opposition
In November 2018 about 150 farmers from Variyav and nearby villages of Olpad taluka of Surat district staged a protest against ONGC officials for routing the pipeline through their fields.[6]
