Expansion Background
In 2013, Tepco has explored importing more LNG and expects the Higashi Ohgishima terminal to convert facilities to only lean LNG imports of up to 6 mtpa by 2023.[3] As of April 2020 this expansion has not progressed in more than four years, and it appears to be cancelled.
