Background
Hod field was discovered in 1974 and its plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 1988. Hod was in production from 1990 until 2013, peak production was 1.5 million standard cubic meters of oil in 1991.[7]
Hod was remote-operated from Valhall field,[8] where oil and gas from Hod were transported to in a shared pipeline further processing. Oil and natural gas liquids ultimately went via pipeline to Teesside in the UK. Gas was sent via the Norpipe Gas Pipeline to Emden in Germany.[7]
According to the field operator, Aker BP, all wells on the Hod platform are currently shut-in and awaiting plug and abandon operations.[8]
Redevelopment of Hod (Hod B)
Aker BP and Pandion Energy submitted a PDO in June 2020 for the redevelopment of Hod.[9] The redevelopment plan includes the construction of a new platform named Hod B, aiming at beginning operations in the first quarter of 2022.[10]
