Background

The power station is different from the Huadian Shijiazhuang Cogen power station and Huadian Shijiazhuang Yuhua Cogen power station.

The two existing coal-fired units of Luhua power station, totaling 660 MW, were brought online in 2011. The plant is owned by China Huadian.[8][9]

Description of Expansion

Huadian was planning to build two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 700 MW.[10][11][12]

In February 2017 the coal-fired units were cancelled, and are being proposed as gas-fired units instead.[13] It was permitted in 2017, and planned construction in August 2018.[14][15]
