Background
The Phase I of the project received approval from the Foshan Municipal Development and Reform Commission in July 2019. [11]It was originally scheduled to commence construction in August 2019 and to begin operations in December 2020.[12] In June 2021, the Foshan Municipal Development and Reform Commission approved the project's request for an extension to start construction.[13] In February 2023, the Foshan Municipal Energy Development "14th Five-Year Plan" proposed the promotion of this project. This project is scheduled to start operation in 2024.[14]
The Phase II project obtained approval from the Foshan Municipal Development and Reform Commission on September 8, 2021. [15]On July 1, 2023, the Foshan Municipal Development and Reform Commission once again approved the extension request for this project, extending the validity period until September 7, 2024.[16]
