Background
India Cements was established in 1946 and has build over eight plants in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and two grinding units in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra over the seven decades of its operations.[1][2] In December 2024, UltraTech acquired India Cement Limited.[3]
India Cements acquired the Malkapur unit from Visakha Cement Industry at project stage in 1997.[4] The Malkapur Cement unit was established in 1998 with a capacity of 1.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and upgraded with an additional line later to reach a capacity if 2.4 mtpa.[1]
