India Cements was established in 1946 and has build over eight plants in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and two grinding units in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra over the seven decades of its operations.[1][2] In December 2024, UltraTech acquired India Cement Limited.[3]

The Wadapally cement plant was acquired Raasi cement in 1998 with an installed capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).[1][3] In 2004, India Cements commissioned 7.7 MW waste heat recovery-based captive power plant at the Vishnupuram plant. In 2014, a 50 MW power plant was commissioned in two phases and operations stabilised.[3]
