Ishikari LNG Terminal was commissioned in 2012 with one storage tank with 180,000 cubic meters of capacity. A second tank with 200,000 cubic meters of capacity was commissioned in 2016. The terminal will provide fuel for a large-scale gas-fired power plant being constructed at Ishikari Bay New Port.[3]
In August 2018 a third storage tank with 230,000 cubic meters of capacity was commissioned.
The expansion of Ishikari LNG terminal was completed by Hokkaido Gas with the fourth storage tank of 230,000 m3 capacity entering into service in October 2020.[4]
