Background

The national transmission network sources gas from receiving stations of suppliers and includes four main sections: maritime (including LNG imports and exports), central, southern, and northern. Under existing development plans, capacity is estimated at around 15 billion cubic meters per year. According to the INGL website, it appears that segments of the system first started operating in 2011.
