Background

The main purpose of the CHPP is to heat residential areas in the eastern part of Ivanovo, the residential area of Kokhma, as well as to supply steam to industrial enterprises, two poultry farms, and greenhouses of the suburban state farm "Druzhba".[11]

The first turbogenerator was put into operation in January 1977, and the last - the fourth - in September 1991. The start years for the second and third turbines are entered as the average of the first and fourth turbines' start years.[11]

The main fuel for the plant is natural gas. Coal and fuel oil are backup fuels.[12]
