Background
Jindal Steel & Power obtained a site for construction of a greenfield BOF steel plant from Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board in July 2021. The planned capacity of the plant was 2.5 mtpa and the expected cost is INR 7,500 crore.[1][2] As of March 2023, the capacity was modified to 3 mtpa at an investment of INR 10,000 crores.[3][4]
