Background

Jingdezhen power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,320 MW in Jiangxi Province.

The first two units, totaling 100 MW, have been retired. Units 3 & 4, totaling 250 MW, were completed in 1994-95. They were later retired in 2009. Unit 5 is a 175 MW unit built in 2004 and was also retired in 2009.[1]

Units 6 and 7, built under the "Big pressure on small" program each have 660 MW of capacity and were completed in 2010-11. The plant was originally owned by CPI.[2][3]

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[4]
