Background
On April 24, 2019, the signing ceremony for the 2.8 million tons per year LNG receiving terminal project was held at Jinzhou Port in Liaoning Province. The total investment of the project is estimated about 4 billion yuan ($611.2 million). The first phase of the project includes a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), supporting wharf and auxiliary facilities. The second phase plans to build a shore-based LNG receiving terminal.[1][2][3]
As of June 2022, there had been not evidence of development in over three years, and the project is considered shelved.
By January 2024, the project has no further news and is considered cancelled.
