Background on Mine

The Kakatiya Khani- 2&2A Incline Underground Coal Mine has a designed capacity of 0.6 million-tonnes-per-annum underground mine, operated by Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India, on an area of 289.25 Ha in village & Mandal Bhupalpally, District Jayashankar Bhupalpally, State Telangana, India.

The mine was earlier operating at a capacity of 0.275 MTPA and received permission to expand the mining lease area to 300 Ha with an expanded capacity of 0.6 MTPA. The Environment Clearance for the this expansion was granted on 31 October 2008.
