Jas-Mos Coal Mine was a coal mine in Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Silesian Province, Poland.[1]
Location
The map below shows the exact location of the coal mine in Silesian Province, Poland.
Background
The Jas-Mos coal mine formed in 1994 when the existing Jastrzębie mine (which gave its first coal in 1962) and its neighboring Moszczenica mine (first coal in 1966) merged. It was owned and operated by the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW) Group.
The Moszczenica mine section was shut down in 1999; the decline of the Jastrzębie mine section began in 2015.[2]
In 2016, what remained of the Jas-Mos mine was signed over to the Poland-based mine liquidation company, Spółka Restrukturyalizacji Kopalń (SRK) SA, and the mine closed that year.[3]
