The Kalewa coal mine, which is located near Kalewa in Sagaing. The United States Geological Survey reports that in 2009 the mine had an annual production capacity of 13,000 tonnes. The mine is owned and operated by Mining Enterprise No. 3, the government-owned mining agency.[1]
