Background

This project is included among the "new additional projects for Kalimantan" in the 2017-2026 long-range plan. It is described as a mine-mouth plant intended to fulfill electricity needs in the "South, Central, East and North Kalimantan System." It is scheduled for 2023-2024.[1] Elsewhere in the long-range plan it is described as 2 x 100 MW.[2] In the long-range plan for 2018-2027 it is described as a 2 x 200 MW plant with an in-service date of 2028-2030.[3] The project does not appear in the long-range plan for 2021-2030 release in October 2021. As of June 2022, the project has not progressed in more than four years, and it appears to be cancelled.
