Background

The pipelines run parallel to each and transports wet gas (unstable gas condensate) from the Karachaganak Oil and Gas Condensate Field to the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant for further processing. After that, commodity gas is re-exported back to Kazakhstan. The pipelines were built before the start of the second stage of the Karachaganak development. Two pipelines with a diameter of 28 inches transport wet gas to the gas processing plant for subsequent purification. In addition, there are three lines with a diameter of 14 inches, one of which is an export line for liquid hydrocarbons, and two are dual-purpose pipelines for transporting unstable liquid hydrocarbons and wet gas.[1][5]
