Background

Construction of the plant was included into the "2035 Electric Power Industry Development Plan" released by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan in February 2024.[4] In July 2024, the project was listed in the "National Infrastructure Plan of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2029". According to the document, the project will be implemented in 2024-2028. The cost of the construction is estimated at KZT 135 billion.[5] As of November 2024, there have not been any further updates.
