Background

Unit 3 has been temporarily shut down for modernization works till 2023. After modernization, the unit's capacity will increase to 316 MW.[12][13] The upgraded unit was launched in 2022.[14]

The Russia's Ministry of Energy 2023-2028 energy program issued in Febryaruary 2023 mentions modernization of units 2 and 3 to increase their installed capacity to 330 MW. The projects are expected to be completed in 2025 and 2027, accordingly.[14]

In July 2023, it was reported that Bashkir Generating Company was intending to invest 4.7 billion rubles in the modernization of Unit 2 as the unit had reached the end of its operational life and required renovation. The plan includes replacement of the main turbine components. Following the modernization, the unit's capacity will increase by 30 MW. The company began development of the project documentation, and contracts for equipment supply have been concluded.[15]
