Background

The plant is located slightly to the south of ACB (India)'s existing 30 MW coal operations in Chakabura village. The plant will run on coal rejects purchased from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation blended with raw coal. The project will require 250 acres, which the company has acquired. The project consists of two 135 MW units.[1]

On its website the company states that on January 4, 2011 it signed a power purchase agreement for the sale of 35% of the power from the plant to the Government of Chhattisgarh.[2]

Unit 1 of the project was completed in December 2011. Unit 2 was completed in June 2012.[2][3][4]
