Background

The coal-fired power station was slated to be converted to run on woody biomass and sewage waste sludge by 2025.[4]

In October 2024, the CEO of Kasseler Verkehrs- und Versorgungs-GmbH stated that the complete elimination of coal at Kassel Kombi power station would not occur until 2026.[5]
