Background

In April 2020, Kinetica Energy Express filed an application before FERC requesting authorization to abandon in-place approximately 20.6 miles of 16-inch-diameter Pipeline Segment Number (PSN) 5140 and 20.7 miles of 12-inch-diameter PSN 3761 from onshore in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana to South Marsh Island Block 220 in the federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico and abandon by removal the remaining 12.9 miles of PSN 5140 and 12.6 miles of PSN 3761 from Marsh Island Block 220 to Marsh Island Blocks 243 and 249, respectively, all located in the federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico.[4]
