Background

This power station provides combined heat and power to Sappi's paper mill in Kirkniemi, Finland. In 2021, Sappi announced that they were investing more than 10m Euros toward switching the fuel from natural gas to biomass.[8] However, Finland's power plant register still lists natural gas as their primary fuel.[9]
