Background
Zorlu Enerji expressed interest in opening an 1176 MW power plant in the small town of Kirikoy in 2017.[3] However, the government has reported that there have been no applications for an environmental impact assessment, nor is the project mentioned in the Turkey's registry of electricity generation licenses.[4] As there has been no movement on the project since 2017, it is presumed cancelled.
