Background
In 2019 Third Energy was acquired by York Energy.[5]
In 2020 the gas turbine was taken offline[6][7], and it was dismantled in 2021.[8] Third Energy stated that they were "developing the former Knapton Generating Station into the Knapton Energy Park" with "a combination of some of the following: solar, combined heat/power (CHP), battery storage, and hydrogen."[9]
According to Third Energy's website in 2021: Phase one is set to address the installation of a energy storage system. Phase two includes a solar energy generator. Phase three includes geothermal, and phase four: a "Innovative technology development centre."[9]
