Background
The coal-fired power station is owned by Teko AS and located in Košice IV, Košice Region, Slovakia.[4][5] Its two subcritical units were started up in 1967.
Unit 1 was reportedly replaced by gas-fired generation in 2019.[6]
In May 2023, Teplarensky holding stated that the power station would be retired at the end of the 2023/24 heating season.[7] However, in November 2023, reporting indicated that the power station would operate through the 2024/25 heating season.[8]
