Background

The project was announced in February 2020.[3][4] There have not been any developments related to this project since its announcement in February on 2020, so we consider this project shelved. It is possible that this proposal was instead replaced by the Udarnaya power station, which is also proposed to be built with the same purpose of covering the energy deficit in the region.[5]

As April 2022, the new district where this new power station is planned to be built is in development.[6] As of November 2022, there were no updates on the power station itself.

The project was not listed in the "Schemes and Programs for Development of Power Systems of Russia for 2023-2028" issued by the Ministry of Energy in February 2023.[7][8]
