Background

Kyzyl-Bulak Coal Mine is a surface mine in Kyzyl-Bulak, Osh Region, Kyrgyzstan. Parity Coal LLC owns the mine, the mine began operating in 1993 and produces thermal, subbituminous coal.

2013 is the most recent production figure of 0.479 million tonnes of coal. A media article from 2022 referred to the production of over 0.5 million tonnes per annum from a mine operated by Parity Coal. Parity Coal was also named as the one having contributed the most to the national budget among the coal producing companies in 2022.

According to national statistical data, 0.87 million tonnes was produced in 2021 and 0.97 million tonnes in 2022 in the Osh region where the Kyzyk-Bulak coal mine is located. It is not known whether this captures any other operating coal mines in the Osh region.
