L&M Energy's Waikato Underground Coal Gasification project (Prospecting Permit 52711) has been flagged by L&M Energy as a potential project located in the Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island.
The two-year permit for the project was granted on March 30, 2011. On its website L&M Energy states that it is "currently in the very early stages of desktop review" and that the next stages are to monitor the project of Solid Energy's adjoining Huntly Underground Coal Gasification Pilot Plant and "commission an external third party review aimed at aid resource identification and defining the forward work plan."[1]
