Background

The plant was built largely on the site of the retired coal-fired Mátravidéki power station.[7][8]

The original sponsor MVM GTER Gázturbinás Erőmű Zártkörűen Működő Részvénytársaság[9] changed its name to MVM Balance Private Limited Company (MVM Balance Zártkörűen Működő Részvénytársaság) as of March 1, 2021.[10]
