Background

Laziska power station is a six-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,155 MW. Units 1-2 were completed in 1960, and units 9-12 in 1971-1972. The plant is owned by Tauron Group.[1]

According to messages from Tauron, Units 1 and 2 were decommissioned in December 2020.[2][3]

In March 2021, Units 9 and 12 were reportedly slated for retirement in 2025.[4]
