Background

In late 2020 ACWA awarded the EPC contract to Chinese firm Sepco 3, while also delaying the project start date one year to 2024.[7] However, ACWA Power's 2020 annual report notes lack of progress on the project and that it will be removed from the portfolio after June 2021.[8] It is also no longer listed on their website as of July 2021 and is therefore presumed cancelled.
