Background

Luzhou Chuannan power station is a 2 x 600 MW coal plant that began operating in 2007-2008. It is owned by Sichuan Investment Group and China Huadian.[1]

Proposed expansion

Two more units of 600 MW each are proposed, known as Luzhou Chuannan II.[1][2][3]

2016: Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity

Due to new restrictions announced during 2016 by the National Energy Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission, further capacity expansions at this location appear to be on hold or cancelled.
