Macmines AustAsia is a subsidiary of Meijin Energy, the largest private coke producer in China. Meijin Energy is owned by the billionaire Yao Junliang.[1]
Macmines AustAsia is investigating the possibility of establish the China Stone project, a massive thermal coalmine on coal leases it acquired in 2007, 230km southwest of Charters Towers in Queensland. In early June the company released its first resource estimates revealing a deposit containing 3.7 billion tonnes of thermal coal. It was reported that a company official said Meijin was investigating a possible 30 - 60 million tonnes a year of coal for export from 2014 or 2015.[1]
