Background

The Magnolia Intrastate Pipeline is a gathering natural gas pipeline that gathers coal-bed methane in Tuscaloosa, Greene, Bibb, Chilton and Hale counties of Alabama and transports it to this natural gas to an interconnect with the Transcontinental Gas Pipeline.[3] It is owned by Third Coast Midstream. The proposed extension into Mississippi would connect the other end of the pipeline to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline.[1]

In November 1997, Magnolia Pipeline Corporation filed a petition before U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for rate approval to continue use of Magnolia's current maximum rate.[4]
