Background
In 2023, the production, storage and offloading vessel Anita Garibaldi started production at the Marlim field.[8]
In 2022, Petrobras closed and removed a 50% stake in the Marlim field according to a securities filing, "Considering the alignment of concessions with the company's strategy and the improvement of its economic and financial indicators". The field was considered to be a difficult sell due to the high cost in the US$Billions and would have left Petrobras as the operator.[9]
