Background
In 2021 the project applied for 735 MW existing generation in the T-4 Capacity Market 2024-2025 auction, and they were listed in the final results.[6][7] This would qualify them for government subsidies to guarantee electricity supply.[8]
In 2021, SSE also announced that it is exploring options for carbon-capture-and-storage (CCS) technologies as well as hydrogen burning technologies to be added to this plant.[9]
